Flash enabled sites can have stunning look, but it may not help to achieve the top position in the search engine. Flash movies have their own links and pages, which the search engine spiders are not able to crawl. The spider identifies only a single page that contains the movies and indexes the content of that single page. This reduces the internal link building in the site i.e. the movie being linked to another scene within itself.

Most users maintain a special ‘plug in’ installed to view flash movies. When the flash movies are large, and you do not have a broadband, then the downloading time is really huge. An alternative like the HTML version can be used, which supports search engine optimization and also helps the visitors to have a clear view of your site who have technology limitations. You could overcome these problems in Flash Pages with the help of the some special Search Engine optimization Techniques.

A site map link can also be added in order to help the search engine to crawl through all the pages.

Search Engine Submission

Submission in a search engine (SE) is a method available to you to proactively let a search engine know about the existence of your web page. Thru a search engine submission you invite search engine spiders to visit your web resource and to index it. Why should you strive for a place in a search engine index? It’s quite likely that if you post even just one simple page on the Web, it means that you have some information you’d like to share with others. But this message won’t be seen by people if they don’t know the exact address of your page. When web surfers look for information, they turn to the help of a search engine. For every request, a search engine refers to its index of web pages ranked according to their relevancy. If you want your website to be found by users of this search engine, then a submission to it could be of use.

In general, search engine submission refers to getting your website listed with a search engine. Nowadays, submission is very simple; it's just an application to a search engine to include your site in the index. If you turn to submission, you’ll find that every search engine performs its own form of submission for a site, but they have many things in common. For example you’ll need your website information such as title, description, keywords and contact e-mail. Sometimes on a search engine suggestion form, only the main URL of the site is required; the rest of the information will be found by crawlers.

When you submit your website for indexation it is placed on a waiting list to be scanned. Some people repeatedly submit to a search engine hoping to attract the attention of robots. We caution you to not make this mistake. It will only put your site at the end of the line again.

Search Engine Submission, Yes or No?

There are opinions that it is not necessary to submit to a search engine. The view argues that a search engine will find your site via incoming links. If your site does have an inbound link from a competent resource, then there is no need to submit it. It’s likely to be found by crawlers. This link will bring a search engine to your pages and treat your website favorably. But what if your site doesn’t have any incoming links? In this case, until there are such links you’ll stay invisible. Additionally, if you are promoting a brand new website and need rapid results, it would be unconstructive to just wait for crawlers. In these situations a regular submission to a search engine is beneficial.

Benefits of Meta Tags Placement

? Meta tags placed by us can generate good page rankings.
? They raise the keyword frequency
? Quality Meta Tags Placement gives your webpage the required individuality and distinctiveness.
? Meta Tags also make the pages of your website search and user friendly.

The <META> tag which in the early days of search engine optimization was the king of tags, today has dwindled in its royalty. It is of much less important, but do not listen to anyone who says they are dead. That is absolutely not true. There are search engines that use it entirely for their site rankings. They are known as Meta Search Engines. MetaCrawler and DogPile are examples of meta search engines.

Google still pays particular attention to the <META NAME="Description"> tag for their site placement, while it is not nearly as important to Google as it once was, it is still not a tag to eliminate.

Important Meta Tags and their uses in Search Engine Optimization:
For this tutorial we will only concentrate on the tags used for placing sites in the top of the search engines. As there are numerous commonly used tags, this tutorial focuses on the ones that play a role in optimizing websites. The following will be discussed in order of importance.

Meta Description:
<META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Search Engine Placement">
This tag describes the content of the site. Today it is the most important tag in the search engine optimization process. Google pays particular attention to it when used properly. A good description uses 75 to 100 characters (about 30 words or 2 short sentences). This tag should not be used for spam. It should be targeted to your most desired keywords, yet should be in sentence format, not in keyword format. Your most important statements come first. Keyword density of your meta tags is important. So do not use it as keyword spam. Limit its use to capture one to three keywords on each particular page. Every page should have a different description as well as a different title and content. Every site should have different meta description tags. Do not use a tag on a different site, even if the site was a high ranking site, because it will not work properly for you. Do not place the same tags on every page of your website. Each Page is different and requires different tags.

Another common use for the Meta Description tag is to send a message to search engine searchers. The meat description tag is used by some search engine to give a description of your website when it shows in the search results. So an important message is extremely important.

Meta Keywords:
<META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="Search Engine Placement">
The Keyword tag once reigned as an almighty tag until Google decided to ignore it due to webmaster spam. Webmasters flooded it with every keyword they could thing of, relevant and irrelevant keywords were used to eventually render this tag worthless. It is still used by other search engine with more priority then Google. Google will consider the tag if it has limited usage. A good useful keyword tag should have a limited number of keywords. Somewhere between 5 and 20 is a good range.

Meta Robots
<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="index, follow">
Equivalent to the robots.txt file. The meta robots tag tells the search engine spiders what to do with your site. "index", "noindex", "no-archive", "all", or "none" are the most commonly used. The meta tag used above tells the search engine spiders to index the page and follow the links. "all" would do the same as "index, follow".

If "noindex, nofollow" were used the spider would not index the site or follow it, "none" or "no-archive" would do the same. Check for these on the pages of websites that you are considering trading links with. If you see any of the "none" variables, do not trade links, as the link is not indexed it has no value. You should also note that if you use a robots.txt file that also tells robots not to index certain pages, then the pages will not be indexed regardless of the robots meta tag. Robots.txt files are read first and they take priority over any meta tags, so be sure that your robots.txt file isn't telling spiders not to index the site.

Nosnippet (GOOGLEBOT Specific - Doesn't Help Ranking)
<META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="nosnippet">
The "nosnippet" tag is for Google only so the GOOGLEBOT is targeted by the meta name. Nosnippet removes any text used by Google in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) listings. All that will remain in the SERPs is the DMOZ (Open Directory) description and category if the site is listed in the Open Directory. If the site is not listed and the "nosnippet" tag is used, only the Title will remain in the Google Results Pages.

Meta Pragma (Doesn't Help Ranking)
<META NAME="pragma" CONTENT="nocache">
Used to keep the search engine from keeping a Cache (indexed copy) of the page in its database. The theory behind this tag is that it will force the spiders to re-visit your site more often. (No longer necessary or possible through this tag). This tag is commonly used by Search Engine Optimization Software that is suppose to help you auto-generate tags and pages that will rank well. The tag is really a waste of space and causes a lowered value of your Keyword Rich Text, as it moves it lower down the page and adds additional content to the code of the pages.

Meta Copyright:
<META NAME="Copyright" CONTENT="Copyright © 2003-2007 SEO Image, Inc., All Rights Reserved.">
Used to copyright web page. Not useful in search engine ranking. Very limited usage by any Search Engine. It seems to be an unused tag, as sites can still copy your content and no priority is given to anyone using this tag first. It is not helpful for search engine placement, and only recommended if you need to copyright something and have it archived online. Like this tutorial.

Meta noodp (Doesn't Help Ranking)
<meta name="robots" content="noodp">
Removes the Open Directory (DMOZ) title from the Google Search Results for the site. This gives webmasters full control of how their titles will appear in the Google Search Results. This was a heavily desired tag as most people do NOT like how the Open Directory titles sites. This tag only needs to be placed on the pages listed in the Open Directory. In most cases this is just your home page.

The rest of the tags are not necessary, although if your a medical site you might want D.C.Meta Tags (Dublin Core), If your Family Friendly you may want the Ratings (Pics-label) meta tag (meta http-equiv="pics-label") like those of icra.org. Overuse of any meta tag could be considered spam and possibly have a detrimental effect to your rankings. Take a look at our tags, specifically for this page as we have used it to target very few keywords. There are still many other meta tags, none are worth mentioning for search engine optimization purposes. Remember there are really only 3 important tags to use the rest we can live without.

Content is King" is a current meme when organizing or building a website. This is because the Internet is the information superhighway and most people use it for information of some sort.

The information on a website is its content. Generally the more useful and interesting content a website has the more successful it will be. This is because more people will want to visit it again and again, this is especially true if a website is constantly adding more and more content on a regular basis be it articles, tutorials, news and opinion or whatever.

Content is what drives the web. OK, OK, what about the vast variety of products that can be bought on the web?

It's true there are millions and millions of products available to buy on the web but only the odd surfer goes online to specifically look for a product so if you gear your site to simply sell your product and do nothing else you won't be very successful.

This is because nobody will even visit your site unless they're looking specifically for your product and they just so happen to find it via a search engine.

Now you know content is king but do you know what good content is? Well the first trick to creating good content for your website is to be sure that your content will have specific appeal to your target audience.

Next you want original content, if someone asked me what I considered good content I'd say that it was content that's different and unique and not the same as the content on the other website I just came from.

Good content will show the writers own personality and flavor in it. It will be and very informative, if it's not what's the point of putting it online in the first place, nobody will benefit from it and it won't help you get more repeat visitors.

Your content should be easy to understand and use regular English as far as possible, if you've to use topic specific words that could cause trouble for some visitors make sure you explain them. To create content you simply write news and articles about the industry your product is in. This ensures that visitors who read your content are also the visitors that are likely to be interested in buying your product.

If you feel you're great at creating products but don't feel the same way about your writing skills and think you can't write your own content there are hundreds of places where you can get content for free, usually all that's required of you is that you place a small bio of the original writer at the bottom of the article or tutorial.

To find free content like this simply visit any major search engine and type in "free your keywords here content" and then visit a couple of the returned sites. You'll be surprised at the amount of free content you can get for your site.

Remember before you publish new content always always check spelling and grammar. If your content has misspellings and poor grammar your website and company will appear unprofessional and people don't generally buy from companies they think are unprofessional.

Don't just use the spell checker in Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage or any other website creator you use because the spell checker will do just that, spell check, it won't be able to tell you that you've used 'there' when you should've actually used 'their', so you always have to actually read all your content, usually twice is enough to spot errors, also to make sure try and get some friends to proofread it for you.

On a final note, always try to update your content as much as possible as more people will become regular visitors and will be exposed to the products and services you offer. This is turn will equal more sales and profit for you and that ladies and gentlemen is what it's all about.

Why Content is King?

Content is easily viewable and just as easy to measure. It basically includes what you see on the site: the text. If your competition has more text than you, consider increasing yours; if he has more keywords, consider increasing yours; if he has bigger headers, consider increasing yours. By all means, I am not saying to make a carbon copy of his site, but do look at the "on the site" factors that you are lacking and evaluate whether to increase them on your site. A note of caution - make sure that any changes you make actually improves the site and increases its value for your customers. In other words, don't sacrifice quality for quantity unless you believe that the added text actually serves to better the overall look, feel and quality of your site.

Some ideas to increase quality/quantity of content:

Write a monthly article about your topic

Write a page about your keyphrase/product/service

If your headers don't have your keyphrase in them, then be sure to add it Make sure the titles on all your pages relate to the content of the page Write, write, write (and then write some more!).

How It helps?

When you visit a site after seeing the images, you would definitely try to read the text that is there. Well if its good… hats off to the writer. However, if content is monotonous one, then you will loose interest. The popular and top ranking websites have good original, informative content.  Keeping this in mind many SEO companies hire a team of copywriters, who using the writing skills write for the site.

For writing the content they do not re-write the existing articles, rather they provide the new perspective to the complete content.  If you are budding writer then mantra for original content creation is to “Read More”. It will broaden your horizon and help you to think and write better. You will be able to pen down your thoughts better and deliver quality content.

When you use innovate ideas for the content and pen them down on blog or website pages, it attracts the attention of users. They frequently like to visit the website or blog to read the impressive text. Hence, readers are driven to the site. Many SEO experts feel that content has the captivating effect on the mind of users and if they like information and found product useful then they can even buy it.

As a beginner you might not be knowing but search engines also like to go through the site with uniformly scattered keywords. Hence, with the help of good content the site too gets  promoted. This may be the prime reason, why many SEO companies just want content, content and content.

Not only articles the original text, images, vedios and any submitted original items helps for increase seo rank and trafic.
